Riverty’s expansion into the Nordics required creating a unified product experience across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Previously, users relied on legacy portals with outdated functionality, leading to inconsistent user experiences and maintenance challenges.
Our goal was to provide a seamless and scalable solution that catered to the specific payment preferences of each market while aligning with Riverty’s broader European strategy.
We took a phased approach, launching first in Denmark and gradually expanding to other Nordic countries each quarter.
Denmark:
- Launched the “Pay by Link” feature, allowing users to pay invoices via an email link without logging in.
- Worked with a parking client to enable card payments, ensuring the solution was scalable for other use cases.
Sweden and Norway:
- Introduced BankID login, a widely used authentication method in these markets, to streamline app access.
- Integrated wallet payments with Swish in Sweden, which boasts nearly 90% market penetration, and MobilePay and Vipps in Denmark and Norway, respectively.
User Journey Mapping:
- Created detailed user journeys for paying and managing invoices in each market, ensuring the solutions addressed local needs while maintaining a consistent experience across the region.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partnered with developers to refine design implementation and ensure technical feasibility.
- Consulted with UX writers and UI designers to localize the interface and payment flows, while ensuring Riverty’s design system standards were met.
